Bangladesh Railway Govt. High School Akhaura is one of the most prestigious and important educational institutions at Akhaura. It is located in the heart of the Akhaura Upazilla, comprising of an area of 5.00 acres of land.Formally, Railway Blizz High School Akhaura was established in 1920 following the curriculum of British Public School. M. A. Azad was the first Headmaster of the School. The classes started functioning with ten classes, from class one to ten. The first batch of students appeared in the Matriculation Examination in 1921. Subsequently, with further expansion of the institution, it's name was converted into Bangladesh Railway Govt. High School Akhaura. In 1969, for some administrative reasons and effective teaching, the school section was totally bifurcated and shifted to its present location and its original name ''Bangladesh Railway Govt. High School Akhaura'' was reinstated. The school is housed in two buildings: two storied and one storied. At present this is a one-shift school with the strength of about 1,200 students. This school consists of only Bangla version.
